A special Latvian community event with Latvian cellist Margarita Balanas who is joined by pianist Damien Mansfield in performing a range of pieces by Latvian composers with a little Schumann
and Bach as well.

Rushad Eggleston is a revolutionary cellist, composer, poet-philosopher, and entertainer whose unforgettable performances captivate and inspire. Using his cello as the steering wheel, he will take you on a rocket-fueled melodic journey through space and time.

Presented in association with Ngeringa Arts this recital features award winning Finnish cellist Marko Ylönen. He is joined by leading Adelaide pianist Michael Ierace in a program of solo cello and sonatas by Debussy and Grieg.

Zoe is a founding member of Flinders Quartet, one of Australia's finest chamber ensembles. She is joined by pianist Amir Farid in a program of Debussy, Boulanger, Bragato, Solare and Hure.

An opportunity to hear Australia's greatest young cello talents. This recital features cellist Jack Bailey (born 1992, NSW) who is joined by accomplished pianist Kristian Chong. Program includes Schubert, Tchaikovsky and a solo sonato for cello by Ligeti.

Lynn Harrell & Margarita Balanas plays Bach Suites

A special chance to get up-close in the beautiful surroundings of the Mortlock Chamber. Includes the opportunity to meet the artists after the concert. Lynn Harrell is joined by London-based cellist Margarita Balanas to perform the Bach Cello Suites.

Four spectacular cellists: Li-Wei Qin, Pei-Sian Ng, Louise McKay & Marko Ylnen join the the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Arvo Volmer for a cornucopia of cello concertos by Tchaikovsky, Vasks, M A Turnage and Elgar.

The Ngs perform Handel and a world premiere of a work for cello duo by UK composer Daniel Kidane. Leonard Elschenbroich, coming to Adelaide from a recital at London's Wigmore Hall and performances at the Concertgebouw, performs Bach, Lutoslawski and Hindemith.

Pei-Jee Ng performs Saint-Sans Cello Concerto No.1 with the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra conducted by Luke Dollman. Also hear Wagner's Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nrnberg.

Giovanni Sollima

A wonderful composer and performer almost in the tradition of cellist composers of the 19C who performed their own virtuoso works. Giovanni Sollima plays his own music but looks back to the traditions of early cello works by Italian composers.

The great American cellist Lynn Harrell is playing Lutoslawski's powerful Cello Concerto, which was composed in 1970 for the legendary Russian cellist, Mstislav Rostropovich. Arvo Volmer leads his players in Brahms' joyful Second Symphony.
